
This is to be submitted along with the application to write the re-instatement examination or you may attach to the examination at the time the examination is written.EXAMINATIONS Examination time allowance is 3 ½ hours pass mark is 65% with no provisions for rewrites. Candidate is to provide a written account of their work history, including the time while certificate was expired, and this submission is to include information such as (but not limited to) type of equipment operated, their position / duties, periods of employment, plant ratings, safety valve settings, etc. All but one question can be answered by referencing the applicable documents (provided by the examination centre for candidates to use) the final question requires the candidate to recall information obtained while operating power plant equipment. To prove knowledge of the current Regulations and Codes, the candidate is required to sit an open-book examination. RE-INSTATEMENT PROCEDURETo comply with Section 26.3 of the Ontario Operating Engineers Regulation under theTechnical Standards and Safety Act, a certificate holder applying to renew their certificatethat has been expired for longer than the one-year-grace-period will be required to pay alloutstanding fees, prove their knowledge of current Act, Regulations and Codes, andprovide a written account of the power plant operating experience.
